The Challenge
The company ran SAP ECC 6.0 with over 15 years of accumulated customizations across three separate plants. SAP announced end of support for ECC, making the migration to S/4HANA an urgent priority. The challenge was not only technical: each plant had its own processes, some undocumented, and the business could not afford disruptions to the production chain during the transition.
The Solution
BeeWorks' team of 8 SAP consultants applied the ASAP methodology with a phased rollout approach, starting with finance and logistics as the modules with the greatest cross-functional impact. A thorough assessment of existing customizations was performed to determine which would migrate, which would be replaced by S/4HANA standard functionality, and which would be redesigned. Custom Fiori applications were developed for shop floor use, allowing paper-based processes to be replaced without steep learning curves. The data strategy ensured historical integrity throughout the migration.
Results
All three sites went live with S/4HANA within the agreed timeline. The monthly financial close, which previously took up to 10 days, was reduced to 4 days thanks to the real-time visibility S/4HANA provides. Inventory accuracy improved 25% through the elimination of manual reconciliations. Over 200 users were trained and adopted the system without the typical resistance levels seen in projects of this scale.
